Michael Benedict has been a freelance musician in the Los Angeles music scene since 1980 performing live and recording with many world-class artists and projects. Growing up in Pompano Beach, Florida, he first started performing at school dances, nightclubs, and local theater including the Burt Reynolds Theater and Parker Playhouse. Upon moving to Los Angeles he started working with Broadway composer and producer Frank Wildhorn, Commodores singer J.D. Nicholas, and recorded numerous sessions for Motown, ATV, and Crysalis publishing companies. Some of his film and television works include Larry the Cable Guy, Someone to Watch Over Me, and cartoons: Fatherhood, Peanuts (new episodes), Ozzy and Drix, Life with Louie, and The Proud Family, Michael’s live work includes touring nationally and internationally with Donna Summers, Pat Boone, and the Four Tops, numerous corporate and private events, as well as local theater, including productions of Smokey Joe’s Café, Al Jolson at the Winter Garden, The Danny Kaye Story, and A Chorus Line. Michael has also been a guest soloist and clinician at many colleges and high schools. His first CD, Skin to Earth (Remba Records) is available through Amazon. Michael resides in Los Angeles with his wife of 28 years, Marissa, a professional trumpet player. He has 3 children, and enjoys fishing, the outdoors, cooking, and playing tennis.
