Prescott Symphony Orchestra launches new opportunity for Prescott Area Students

Prescott Symphony Orchestra is very excited to launch a new youth string orchestra! The new orchestra is being launched in support of local school music programs and will train students to become outstanding string players and musicians. Students will study with and play along side coaches from the Prescott Symphony Orchestra, Prescott Pops Symphony and Prescott Chamber Orchestra. Students will have the opportunity to audition for Prescott Pops Symphony when they enter High School. Maestro Joseph Place will conduct the new ensemble. Sarah Walder Amata is the Program Director.

The Prescott Youth Orchestra is a string orchestra for Prescott area students entering grades 5 through 8. The orchestra is open to violin, viola, cello, and string bass students at beginning through advanced levels. Instruments will be provided through rental programs and may in some instances also be borrowed. The orchestra will meet during the school year at Glassford Hill Middle School in Prescott Valley on Wednesdays, 4:00 to 5:30pm.

The Prescott Pops wants all interested young musicians to enjoy the opportunity to play with the Prescott Youth Orchestra so SCHOLARSHIPS for Tuition and Instruments are available! PLEASE NOTE: If you fall outside the grade guidelines and are still interested in playing with the PYO, please contact us!

If you have a question or need clarification or help in registering your young musician, please reach out!
