All concerts take place Sundays at 3:00pm in the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center!



July 8, 2018 – “The Force Returns”

Maestro Joseph Place and The Prescott Pops welcome the return of Conductor Emeritus, Paul Manz, to share the podium for the first concert of the 2018-2019 season. Feel the adventure and exhilaration as you listen to Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade’s Scherzo for Motorcyle. Feel the drama and danger in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story theme by Michael Giacchino. The enduring sounds of motion picture themes and patriotic favorites, both old and new will move and thrill you. Add a dash of rousing romance with John Williams’ Tango from “Scent of A Woman,” and you have the perfect recipe for a sensational musical experience.

July 29, 2018 – “A Cole Porter Celebration”

Cole Porter’s brilliant talent brought to musical theater what many believed were the cleverest, funniest and most romantic songs every written. The Prescott Pops Symphony under the baton of Choral Director, Darrell Rowader, along with the Prescott Pops Chorus will dazzle you with a fantastic array of Cole Porter’s many delightful creations. “You’re The Top,” “Too Darn Hot, “I Get A Kick Out Of You”, “All Of You” are just a few of the pieces guaranteed to make you smile. Many of the songs in this program harken back to popular recordings of Porter’s music by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra, a cross of talents and styles that spanned genres and yet earned universal admiration and appreciation. You can expect an incredible performance from musicians and singers alike, and an afternoon of superior entertainment.


September 16, 2018 – “Prescott Pops Picks”

Have you ever wondered what individual symphony musicians like to listen to or play when they’re not in concert? Who are their favorite composers and what particular pieces of music do they love? Maestro Joseph Place has once again come up with an imaginative and unique way to put a concert program together that will give you, our audience, a change of pace and some surprises too. You will have a chance to hear from some of our talented musicians and about the music that moves them most – and then the Pops will perform it for you. Some may be well-known and some old favorites. But we promise you a fun and entertaining afternoon of music enlightenment and joy!


December 9, 2018 – “Jingle All The Way”

What is the holiday season without a musical extravaganza performed by the Prescott Pops Symphony and Chorus? Bringing Prescott the musical sounds of the season is one of the Pops most enjoyable endeavors and Maestro Joseph Place along with Chorus Director Darrell Rowader have put their talented heads together to create a most memorable experience. Revel in the melodies and magic, fun and fantasy, the splendid and sublime in Christmas music. Join the Pops musicians, chorus and special guest soloists as they bring you holiday joy and pleasure!


February 17, 2019 – “Easy To Love”

It’s all about romance and the heart as the Prescott Pops Symphony presents their last concert of the season in the month of love. How divine to create a day of romance that includes music! Join the orchestra as they pluck at your heart strings with memorable tunes that tell the tales of love. Music is emotional on every level, from sad, angry and depressed, to wildly happy, ecstatic and crazy. But there’s no mistaking the strains of romance. Passion, beauty, excitement and desire are just some of the feelings that beautiful music can evoke, and you can expect an unforgettable musical concert.
