Don Langford moved to Prescott in 1977 with his wife Cela and their twin sons. He began performing in 1979 with the Prescott Fine Arts (PCA) and has continued his love affair with music and community theatre for almost 40 years.
“Applegate” in Damn Yankees, “Von Trapp” in Sound of Music, “Henry Higgins” in My Fair Lady, “Petruchio” in Kiss Me Kate, “Zach” in A Chorus Line, “The Doctor” in Grand Hotel, the voice of “Audrey II” in Little Shop of Horrors as well as more recent roles as “Lawrence” in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, “Franz” in The Producers and “Igor” in Young Frankenstein are some of his favorite musical theatre roles. He will soon be seen as “Arvide” in Guys and Dolls in September.
While directing Sweeney Todd and Les Miserables for the Prescott Center for the Arts he had the privilege of directing Darrell and Linda Rowader and was introduced to the more classically trained voices in the community. Don looks forward to directing the Hunchback of Notre Dame with Gina Steverson as musical director at PCA in June of 2019.
