John Pierce Kraft, bass-baritone, was born and raised in Darien, Connecticut, where he began his music education under Theresa Vicario at 16. He received his Bachelor’s at DePauw University in Indiana, and graduated from Arizona State University with a Master’s degree in opera performance.
Kraft studies under Gordon Hawkins, and has recently appeared in Arizona Opera’s productions of “Falstaff”, “Don Giovanni”, “Carmen”, and “Arizona Lady”, as well as leading in ASU Lyric Opera Theatre’s “Owen Wingrave”, “La Serva Padrona”, and “Così fan Tutte”. He has previously performed with the Desert Foothills Theater, Opera Revolution, and Intimate Opera of Indianapolis, and will be appearing as a guest artist with Arizona Opera this season.
