Associate Conductor, Ryan Gastonguay

Born and raised in Prescott, Ryan Gastonguay began performing with the Prescott Pops Symphony in 2000 as a sophomore in high school. He studied French Horn with Dr. John Ericson at Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in music performance in 2007. Ryan is honored to serve as the associate conductor of the Pops and is passionate about the Symphony’s dedication to local music. As a product of the Symphony’s mission to support aspiring young musicians, he is delighted to be on the podium and make music with Prescott’s best.

Ryan has performed horn with the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, Mesa Symphony, Verde Valley Sinfonietta, Arizona Winds, and the Prescott Chamber Orchestra, among others. He also contracts many of the professional orchestras in the Prescott area, including those for Prescott Chorale and the Yavapai College Performing Arts Department – from Handel’s Messiah to Phantom of the Opera. In addition, Ryan sings tenor in Camerata Chamber Singers and enjoys his work as a choral conductor. He currently serves as the Minister of Music at Mountain Reformed Church, a congregation based in music and arts ministry.
